Text Box: The 2010 mid-term elections for the United States House and Senate representatives are around the corner, and it looks like the Democrats, who right now have the majority in both houses, are about to lose their political power altogether. According to polls, the American people have become disillusioned and weary of the failed policies of the Democrats and their president Barack Obama. Despite all the excitement about Barack Obama and the hyped up campaign promises of hope and change, absolutely nothing penned out for the president and the Democrats over these past two years. The president failed to stimulate the economy as he promised, despite the more than 700 billion dollars he used to bring down the unemployment rate. There are now more and more people losing their jobs in a record number and our nation is drowning in the greatest debt in its history. He also passed a very dubious health-care bill against the will of the majority of the American people, and on top of that, President Barack Obama is threatening to significantly raise taxes on the American people in promotion of his wealth distribution ideas. In addition to this, we cannot forget the war debacle that is taking place in Afghanistan, where many of our soldiers are dying because of the bad leadership of our president who does not know how to fight and win wars. Neither can we overlook his shocking insensitivity toward the families of the victims of the 911 attacks and America in general, when it comes to his sympathizing with the Muslims who wants to build a mosque near Ground Zero in New York City. (For the Muslims, building a mosque on the site or close to area where they attacked and killed infidels - as they call those who are not Muslims - means having a victory monument.) President Barack Obama is also hindering several states in America that wants to protect their borders against illegal immigrants and the infiltration of terrorists, by suing them. It has become apparent, that most of the president’s own Democratic Party members do not want to be associated with him and his failed policies, as the majority of them are campaigning to retain their seats in the House and Senate. It is interesting to see that many political analysts and commentators in the media are calling President Barack Obama a narcissist, which means that someone feels grandiose and self-important, exaggerates accomplishments, talents, skills, contacts, and personality traits to the point of lying, demands to be recognized as superior. A narcissistic person feels entitled and is firmly convinced to be unique and special and he or she can only be understood by, should only be treated by, or associate with, other special or unique, or high-status people (or institutions); Requires excessive admiration, adulation, attention and affirmation – or, failing that, the narcissist wishes to be feared and to be notorious. A person having a narcissistic disorder is unable or unwilling to identify with, acknowledge, or accept the feelings, needs, preferences, priorities, and choices of others. This person is constantly envious of others and seeks to hurt or destroy the objects of his or her frustration. It suffers from persecutory (paranoid) delusions as he or she believes that they feel the same about him or her and are likely to act similarly and behaves arrogantly and haughtily. The narcissist feels superior, omnipotent, invincible, immune and "above the law" and will always blame others and be unwilling to admit any wrongdoing or take personal responsibility. They often rage when they are frustrated, contradicted, or confronted by people they consider inferior to them. Indeed, we are seeing many of these above mentioned narcissistic character traits in the behavior of President Barack Obama. For instance this president, like no other one in the history, is constantly and openly blaming his predecessor President George W. Bush for his own economic failures. President Barack Obama recently singled out the television network Fox News in an interview with a magazine, calling them “destructive.” It is obvious that the president cannot stand being criticized by others for his policies, and instead of acting like a statesman, he takes it personal and does not hesitate to openly dog it out with those who oppose him. Never in the history of American presidents, have we seen a president going around in the world and literally bowing for foreign leaders, wanting them to like him and embrace him. President Barack Obama also openly receives gifts from dictators. As I said in the beginning of this study, the American people has become disillusioned and tired of the failed policies of this president and the Democratic party, and I believe the American people are now looking to vote for political candidates who wants to see this nation go back to the biblical moral principles that was established by our founding-fathers. In 2008 when Barack Obama was elected president of the United States of America, I wrote a study for our website titled “The White House,” where I compare the people of America’s choice for President Barack Obama with the “against God’s will” choice of the Israelites for King Saul to rule over them. Just as the people chose Saul, so the people of America chose Barack Obama despite all the warnings God gave them. Yet, God allowed it, in order to show the people that it won’t work and be blessed, since it is not His will. It is interesting to notice the eerie resemblance in the actions we have seen so far from President Barack Obama and those of King Saul, who also was a narcissist, blaming everyone else for his problems and disobedience. Here are some examples of King Saul’s actions: At one point, Israel was facing the mighty Philistine army, and King Saul and his army became terrified and hid when they saw them. The prophet Samuel told King Saul to wait until he arrives to sacrifice burnt offerings and peace offerings. Samuel said: “Then go down to Gilgal ahead of me and wait for me there seven days. I will join you there to sacrifice burnt offerings and peace offerings. When I arrive, I will give you further instructions." 1. Samuel 10:8 NLT Under the pressure of the approaching Philistines, Saul took matters in his own hands. Rather than waiting for Samuel as instructed, he decided to offer the sacrifice himself. When confronted, he shifted the blame on Samuel saying: "I saw my men scattering from me, and you didn't arrive when you said you would, and the Philistines are at Micmash ready for battle. So I said, 'The Philistines are ready to march against us, and I haven't even asked for the LORD's help!' So I felt obliged to offer the burnt offering myself before you came." 1. Samuel 13:11-12 NLT In another situation, God told Saul through the prophet Samuel to go and completely destroy the entire Amalekite nation, since God wanted to settle the score with them for their past attacks on Israel. One day Samuel said to Saul, "I anointed you king of Israel because the LORD told me to. Now listen to this message from the LORD! This is what the LORD Almighty says: 'I have decided to settle accounts with the nation of Amalek for opposing Israel when they came from Egypt. Now go and completely destroy the entire Amalekite nation — men, women, children, babies, cattle, sheep, camels, and donkeys.'" 1. Samuel 15:1-3 NLT Again Saul disobeyed the command of God by sparing the life of the king of Amalek and the best of the animals. Then Saul slaughtered the Amalekites from Havilah all the way to Shur, east of Egypt. He captured Agag, the Amalekite king, but completely destroyed everyone else. Saul and his men spared Agag's life and kept the best of the sheep and cattle, the fat calves and lambs — everything, in fact, that appealed to them. They destroyed only what was worthless or of poor quality. 1. Samuel 15:7-9 NLT When Samuel confronted Saul with his rebellious behavior, Saul ultimately blamed the whole thing on his own army, as he justified himself saying: "I have carried out the LORD's command!" 1. Samuel 15:13 NLT "It's true that the army spared the best of the sheep and cattle," Saul admitted. "But they are going to sacrifice them to the LORD your God. We have destroyed everything else." 1. Samuel 15:15 NLT "But I did obey the LORD," Saul insisted. "I carried out the mission he gave me. I brought back King Agag, but I destroyed everyone else. Then my troops brought in the best of the sheep and cattle and plunder to sacrifice to the LORD your God in Gilgal." 1. Samuel 15:20-21 NLT Before Saul became king, God warned the people of Israel through Prophet Samuel about how bad this king will treat them and the negative consequences of having him as their leader. But the Israelites refused to listen. So Samuel passed on the LORD's warning to the people. "This is how a king will treat you," Samuel said. "The king will draft your sons into his army and make them run before his chariots. Some will be commanders of his troops, while others will be slave laborers. Some will be forced to plow in his fields and harvest his crops, while others will make his weapons and chariot equipment. The king will take your daughters from you and force them to cook and bake and make perfumes for him. He will take away the best of your fields and vineyards and olive groves and give them to his own servants. He will take a tenth of your harvest and distribute it among his officers and attendants. He will want your male and female slaves and demand the finest of your cattle and donkeys for his own use. He will demand a tenth of your flocks, and you will be his slaves. When that day comes, you will beg for relief from this king you are demanding, but the LORD will not help you." But the people refused to listen to Samuel's warning. "Even so, we still want a king," they said. "We want to be like the nations around us. Our king will govern us and lead us into battle." 1. Samuel 8:10-20 NLT I believe that America has been warned, just like these Israelites, about how bad Barack Obama was going to treat us, and yet we did not want to heed the voices of those God was using to warn us over and over again. America wanted this president so bad that it couldn’t see the problems that were lying ahead, and it is now begging for relief from this president. And God in these last days is mercifully giving America the recipe for this needed relief: If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land. 2.
